BIA Announces the
Formation of the Brick Industry Association's
Brick PAC for a
Stronger America
And
The PAC for Stronger
Communities
On October
16, 2006, BIA's Board of Directors approved the
formation of the Federal Political Action Committee (PAC) named BIA's Brick PAC for a Stronger America and
the formation of the Indiana PAC named PAC
for Stronger Communities. These are established to help safeguard the brick
industry and help sell more brick.
PAC for Stronger Communities
This PAC
was established so that BIA could
work to improve the business climate for the brick industry in the State of Indiana. This will
assist us in helping to sell more brick, and safeguarding the brick industry on
key policy issues.
Indiana law allows corporations to make
direct contributions to PACs; however, the amounts must not exceed the maximum
corporate contributions allowed during that calendar year. So, direct corporate
contributions to PACs must be "earmarked, or designated by the corporation to
go to a category of candidates and is subject to the limitations of that
category.
Currently, BIA would like to solicit contributions for
distribution among municipal candidates for county and local offices.
Corporations are limited to a maximum contribution of $2,000 per calendar year
for candidates of this category. For your benefit, the Contribution Form
is provided. All companies, regardless of whether they are or are not BIA
members, may participate in this PAC.
To make a
contribution to the PAC for Stronger
Communities:
- Make out the check to PAC for Stronger Communities
- Fill in the Contribution
Form
- Mail the check, accompanied by
