The Brick
Industry Association sponsors the EH&S contests to illustrate the brick
industry's commitment to safeguarding the environment, as well as the safety
and health of the brick industry workers. These competitions are designed to
boost recognition of individual companies for efforts that ultimately benefit
the brick industry as a whole.
All distributors and manufacturers are encouraged to enter the contests. There is no entry fee for BIA members and non-members will pay a fee of $150 for each entry submitted. Winning
companies benefit from publicity in consumer news publications, trade
publications covering the masonry industry, as well as both the worker safety
and environmental management functional areas. Additionally, past winners have
capitalized on the honor of winning in BIA's EH&S
contests through promoting the achievement internally. This serves to showcase
the company's leadership position in the industry, and encourage all members of
the winning company's management team and workforce to embrace innovation in
the EH&S area to reduce costs, boost operating efficiency and safeguard the
environment and our workers.
